LINCOLN TRAIL HOMESTEAD STATE PARK
LINCOLN TRAIL HOMESTEAD STATE PARK
Lincoln Trail Homestead State Park is a 162-acre state park located in Macon County, Illinois. It was officially dedicated on August 27, 1957. The main feature of the park is its historical significance; it encompasses the area where Abraham Lincoln's family settled upon moving to Illinois in March 1830.
The homestead site itself marks where young Lincoln lived until he moved to New Salem at age 22 and includes an interpretive memorial commemorating his time there. Visitors can explore trails that offer glimpses into what pioneer life might have been like during Lincoln's era while enjoying views along the Sangamon River which borders the park.
