PIKE LAKE STATE PARK
PIKE LAKE STATE PARK

Reservations: 262-670-3400
The Pike Lake Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest is located in the middle of the Kettle Moraine, a strip of glacial landforms which extends through southeastern Wisconsin to Lake Winnebago. This provides for a beautiful glacial remnant landscape of kames, kettles, and eskers.

The Forest is named after the 446-acre, spring-fed kettle: Pike Lake. Powder Hill, a large glacial kame, also provides the opportunity for a great hike and view. Visitors can enjoy camping, swimming, hiking, fishing, picnicking, and much more within the Forest.
Passes
A Wisconsin State Park System vehicle admission sticker is required on all motor vehicles stopping in state parks, forests and recreation areas, please visit the VEHICLE ADMISSION STICKERS web page.

Camping
Camping is available at Pike Lake from late April through the third weekend in October. There are 32 campsites, 24 wooded and 8 open. The following facilities are available within the campground:

Shower building

Flush toilets

Water fountains

Dumping station (A $3.00 fee is required for non-registered campers at the Pike Lake Unit.)

A picnic table, fire pit, and tent pad are provided at each campsite.

There are no electrical hookups except for site #21, the accessible site. All sites except #22 and #32 are reservable, however, if a campsite is not reserved it can be registered on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance by using the ReserveAmerica web site (exit DNR) or calling (888) 947-2757.
Fishing
Pike Lake was named for its excellent walleye pike fishing, but there are also several other types of game fish found in the lake. Anglers can either fish from boats or from shore, outside the marked swimming area (tall white buoys).

Location
Pike Lake State Park is located near Cedarburg, Germantown and Hartford

Picnicking
The Pike Lake Unit has picnic tables and grills available throughout the picnic area. Two shelters can be reserved for group activities by phone or by mailing a form to the Forest Headquarters.
Trails
Pike Lake offers several miles of hiking trails. Nine different hiking trails provide you with a variety of topography and scenery. Hikers will pass through wetlands, maple, oak, and basswood stands, open prairies, and a variety of glacial terrain.

The Black Forest Nature Trail is a self-guided trail, 0.8 miles in length.

The Astronomy Trail is a 0.5 mile long trail that takes the hiker on a stroll through the solar system.

The Hike to Powder Hill is 0.5 miles from the Nature Trail parking lot. Powder Hill is the second highest point in Southeastern Wisconsin. In 2001, a 60 foot observation tower was built near the peak of Powder Hill providing a spectacular panoramic view.

The Pike Lake Unit also includes a segment of the Ice Age Trail (link exits DNR), which continues through the Forest and State.

The Boardwalk Trail located along the lakeshore near the north picnic area is approximately 0.5 mile in length and is accessible to people with disabilities. This trail also has an observation deck along the lakeshore.

August 7 Please support out State Parks Governer by Disgusted by Gov lack of Suppo
park review stars; one to five Please come and see how many citizens need a place of beauty and nature to go Talk to the kid picking up trash on the beach who find piles of garbage through out this park, no cans? Federal parks have cans. Hunting and snowmobiling destroy this park in the fall and winter.
