My friend and I visited this park on March 15, 2017. It is very clean and the cabin is in great shape. A great piece of history. Many thanks to The DAR and the park service.
February 20Peaceful and Quiet by Wendy and Virginia
My Mother and I went to visit the park in 2008. It was a pleasure to visit, even if it was a short one. The cabin was in very good shape, they had a nice picnic pavilion prepared. The historic markers are in good order, and it is kept clean. (There is a one hole outhouse for necessities. So either do your business before or bear with it.)
October 28Nancy Hart On the Scene by Dianne Mauldin
Audrey Hardin, member of the Stephen Heard Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, portrays the role of local heroine Nancy Hart at this small state park. Many out of town groups as well as groups of local school children have come to hear the stories and visit the replica cabin of Nancy Hart. Audrey brings her own props to add authenticity to the cabin and this historical time. Their is a covered picnic area. This park is a hidden gem!
