MILLER-ANDERSON WOODS STATE NATURE PRESERVE
MILLER-ANDERSON WOODS STATE NATURE PRESERVE
This large preserve contains natural communities representative of the Grand Prairie Section of the Grand Prairie Natural Division. The majority of the bluff area consists of old-growth oak-hickory upland forest with maple-basswood forest occurring in the eroded ravines. Other small, recently acquired communities such as sedge meadow, seep spring and hill prairie add unique vegetation to the already rich diversity. Notable plants include showy orchid and Schreber's aster. Seep areas with large accumulations of peat support marsh marigold and skunk cabbage. Ohio buckeye and queen-of-the-prairie are also present.
