review rating - 1 to 5 stars Embarrassed - I drove from the bay area to Lake Davis and the grasshopper camping site on 28 June Wednesday upon arriving found a spot that had a placard. Their dad said he had beenQ 26th of June so I figured no one was there. I set up my tent only to have the people come back three hours later and tell me that they have reserved it for two more days and no one the Campos or anyone from the state parks had put it a sign it was a very embarrassing situation. I spent $78 in your chill for nothing. The guy let me spend the night and I packed up my things and I left to never ever return. .

review rating - 1 to 5 stars To the lifeguards. - I just want to Thank the lifeguards that were on duty today 04/09/22 They saved myself and my daughters life. We were carried out by a current and we were drowning. Just when I thought that I was going to drown three lifeguards were in the water helping us back to shore. I never got a chance to thank them, I was trying to catch my breath and couldnt talk. They really saved our lives. You guys are my heroes Im forever Grateful

review rating - 1 to 5 stars Death trap - On a recent motorcycle ride from Fort Braggto San Francisco I came upon an impossible turn in the road that could have cost me my life had a car been coming. Luckily there was not a car coming, as I was stopped in the oncoming lane frantically trying to get out of the line of fire. How could a turn like this exist on a much traveled road like this It starts out like your normal mountain loop turn and then inextricably sharply turns again into an almost impossible maneuver. I was ver lucky no cars were coming. Why not fix this At least a flashing warning light.

review rating - 1 to 5 stars Bald Eagle Sighting - Today, Thursday 11/5/2020, my wife and I walked to the end of the San Simeon State Beach trail through the cypress canopy. At the end of the canopy we saw 2 bald eagles perched high above us. No option to upload a photo which we were lucky enough to capture.

review rating - 1 to 5 stars San Simeon State Beach, Cambria, CA - Made reservations for 3 days; set up camp (tent and trailer) and took dog for two walks (on leash) and the ticks and foxtails were terrible and had to leave; we were there 6 hours! We were at Washburn campground; maybe try the lower camp; not as primitive. Very disappointed.

review rating - 1 to 5 stars Nice park. - This was my first time here. We were traveling late and finding all other campgrounds full we tried it. Very pleased to find out it was newly reopened this year. Back loop is very nice and woodsy, Bathrooms were beautiful and clean. Not too noisy from the highwY. Sorry lake is gone but I highly recommend the campground, so close to Avenue of Giants. 4 people total in campground on June 21st a Thursday so very private feel. Site 33 was awsome with a thick woods backdrop. Really nice.

review rating - 1 to 5 stars Funtastic Adventure - This is the best of all nature worlds! Hiking in the trees, beach access and you can walk the bluffs if you would like to. This is an amazing trail that will amaze you with eyecandy of redwoods and ocean!

review rating - 1 to 5 stars One of my favorite backpacking spots! - This park is great for finding solitude, and you do not need to get permits months in advance! Here are two trip reports I wrote that describe my backpacking trips in Henry Coe. 9/11/2017 8:51:58 AM San Simeon Beach State Park
review rating - 1 to 5 stars family favorite - on our last trip we took our dog - over 50% of the guests had dogs - however no dogs were permitted on the beach or trails - we had to load up and drive either north or south to find dog friendly hikes and beaches - we ended up leaving 2 days early
