SICA HOLLOW STATE PARK
Sioux legends of Sica Hollow pronounced SHE-cha recall mysterious happenings, and you can still feel the eerie spell today. Along the Trail of the Spirits, youll see gurgling reddish bogs, which Indians saw as the blood and flesh of their ancestors. Indian lore gives new meaning to Sicas streams, rustic bridges, waterfalls, and wildflowers as you hike along over 8 miles of trails.
Sica Hollow State Park has also earned attention nation-wide. The Old River Warren and Coteau des Prairies are designated National Natural Landmarks. The Trail of the Spirits, a self-guided interpretive foot trail, was designated as a National Recreation Trail in 1971.
There are 8 miles of marked trails to guide horseback riders through the 900 acres of woodland in the park.
