We went today and hiked both ends...total of 7 miles in the park and out of the park area....Was great....lots of scenery and several ducks in the lake...took over 500 pics!
Beautiful place to camp. Great place to set up camp, drop your pole in the water and let your kids swim! Gets pretty crowded on the weekends with lots of people, so reserve during the week if you want it quieter. we have been going there for 25 years with our kids and now we take our grandkids and they love it. This was my first camp trip so I do not have much to compare to but it was great. It was myself, my husband and three boys. We stayed for 5 days and I did not want to leave. It was beautiful! Lots of trails to explore and fun stuff for kids! I would definately go again! I am posting some pics! This is a great place to relax by the water, hike, swim and just about anything you go camping for. We will also be there the second week in August this year. You really do have to reserve early though. I reserved 9 months early. We have been comming here since our kids were little, now we bring them and the grandkids.Great park for camping, swimming , fishing, hiking or just a good old picnic area for the young and old. Bathrooms are cleaned daily. We will be spending 5 days the second week of august with the family,cant wait..... I was looking for a short hike. Did the loop around the lake, not bad but not much of a challenge. Next trip we did the trail west from the dam and added in the loop trail. Was surprised by the quick elevation change up to the ridge and back down to the creek. The trail after crossing the bridge on Sylyia Creek has been rerouted and when wet can be a little slick. Great find for an 1 1/2 hour evening hike. cant seem to get a spot. always reserved. must say something for the place huh? We can camp, at minimal cost, as a family and relax and let the kids enjoy and learn about nature.
