After taking a four hour ride to the park and looking forward to a great lunch we were highly disappointed. Restaurant could not even tell us how long the wait was as there were so many people waiting in and around the restaurant. No one looked happy however the views and park are beautiful. Just go with a full tummy.
13 people in our motorcycle group rode to this park for a day ride from Georgia. We ate at the restaurant. The service was bad and rude. The food was not any good. We all said it was a waste of money. WE may ride there again but will never eat in the restaurant again !!!!
l Live in west Ga. hr. drive to peace, quite, good food and service, good walking trails. A Great place to eat on Thanksgiving. After staying in cabins in North Carolina and Colorado we expected a great vacation experience, but were we ever disappointed. Our cabin had rodents that chewed into our luggage, ate or food and chewed through bags of bread. Forget about the scorpions on the floor. As everything else was booked we had no choice but to drive the 500 miles back home after staying just one restless night trying to avoid being bitten by the rodents in the cabin. The restaurant is a great place to eat and watch the sunset.Lots of choices for lodging and recreation.Beautiful secenery This park gives you a chance to escape Tv and get to know each other. Get a Bluff cabin and relax, read, talk and enjoy! The muscadine Wine is GREAT and Frog Legs!!! I loved Cheaha State Park i stayed in a cabin there and it was awsome went swimming ate breakfast at awsome loved thier bacon . You go to Cheaha and u will love it!!!!!!!
The restaurant and trails were beyond my expectation. Excellent food, trails were well marked. The Country store was suppose to be open, according to hotel personnel, but was not. Proprietor should inform hotel personnel when the store is closed withing usual working hours. The restaurant & cabins are on a cliff side. The views are spectacular. We started coming here with our Boy Scout Troop from Florida. Little has changed in 20 years. The motel is average. The cabins have been newly renovated. If you make a reservation do it well in advance. If you have trouble walking check it the people at the desk. Some of the cabins & chalets have steep steps. This park is beautiful, but much more so on a motorcycle. The winding roads & gorgeous scenery make it a wonderful ride. The lake is clean & not far from the park is Lake Chinnabee Falls. It too is a must see - slight hike, but worth every step. It was the most beautiful view to wake up too. We had a cabin on the bluff and it was wonderful!! Went on the Lake Trail. Steep climb! But very much an accomplishment for someone who has never done that before. We would highly recommend it to everyone. We have been there twice now and already have reservations for next year. Great food, people and views. This is now an anual event for us. I have lived near the mountain my whole life and have hiked all of the mountain. Never staid in-doors there or at a campsite but have camped on the trail countless times. Great Place. it waz an awesome expermint Stayed a few days on our way to Lake Gunter in one of the chalets. The restaurant is truly very special. What a wonderful staff. We felt very welcome.
World class view with down to earth prices. The food at the restaurant is excellent, buffet style and great price, what a view!! Great park with a great location. The park has a wonderful view from over 2,000 feet. The facilities are fantastic especially since there is so little room on top of the mountain.
The only problem is the park map. The trail map is not correct. The starting points for the trails are not always correct and some trails are not on the map. Also, signs do not mark the beginning of all the trails.
