A great place to experience, it is only an hour and a half north of Atlanta.
Anyone would enjoy this beautiful state park. It is well kept, yet not overly touristy. Accessible to young or old, families, couples or singles - this is a park not to miss.
The falls are a wonderful asset and an obvious drawing point. It is quite a hike from the parking lot. Take your time and enjoy the pathway as you wind yourway up the side of the mountain. (Perhaps the hike is one way of making us slow down to enjoy Mother Nature.)
There are many other amenities which makes this park one a destination by choice. The lodge, above the upper falls, is a great place to stay, have a business retreat, meeting, dinner or drink, or simply look over the mountain. Several cabins are available for reservation, and various picnic sites are scattered throughout the park.
I can see this park being busy on weekend, particularly on holidays. I would suggest taking a day in the middle of the week, to have a more secluded visit.
